They tagged me!

Back home after a couple of exciting days in Paris and now that: not enough that there are chainletters blocking my mailboxes, real and virtual, now Lady B tagged me for a meme. Whatever that means.
Obviously I have to post some rules first, then answer some questions, and then may throw the stick to someone else. Okay then. At least I don't have to come up with something original of my own. But I did some research on the meme, and it looks like it has mutated a bit since Beaman was hit by claytonlowe... So I'll go back to the original set of rules which allows me to interview myself. Here we go:

Rules – Each person posts the rules before their list, then they list 8 things about themselves. At the end of the post, that person tags and links to 8 other people; then visits those people’s sites and comments, letting them know that they have been tagged, and to come read the post, so they know what they have to do.

Question #1 quis? Who are you?
If I wanted to splatter my identity all over the internet, I would not have invented this super secret identity/alias for myself. On the other hand, you probably have guessed some things already: I am female, I am in a research project at the Technical University in Berlin, I am currently writing my Ph.D. in art history.

Question #2 quid? What do you want to be in your next life?
I aim at being reincarnated as a tree. A birch tree, to be precise. I would not have to travel much and would get along on very little while always looking stunningly beautiful. And being quite useless, apart from that, for the shipping industry. Or beavers.

Question #3 cur? Why does nobody care?
Oh but they do! Most of them at least.

Question #4 ubi? where have you lived so far?
Grew up in my hometown. Then moved to Chicago, Paris, Tübingen. Kyoto, Tübingen again. Have been in Berlin since 2005.

Question #5 quibus auxiliis? with what means?
Since I don't have any financial means (yet) to live a very uxurius lifestyle a là Paris Hilton I decided to set my priorities differently: I succeed being moderately happy using only my good looks, my charm, some wit and my cooking skills, not to forget a dash of modesty, thus assembling as many nice and interesting people around me as possible. Then I turn them into friends and try to have them around for fun things like - I dunno. Whatever. Watching TV sometimes. Easy, really.

Question #6 Quomodo? how do you put up your hair so that it survives a whole evening of dancing without your looking like that nice Fräulein vom Amt?
That's a tough one. No idea. Next.

Question #7 quando?

Question #8 and a professional classic: Just What Is It That Makes Today's Home So Different, So Appealing?
I wish I knew. But I'll keep studying until I find out!

Okay. Having said that, I throw the stick to everybody I know who blogs. So: Annette, Biggy, Joyce, Nicki. And some I've been reading: cfcAlbert, violetforthemoment, and Cuz. That'd be it.
Thanks.

thanks for tagging. but unfortunately we never really respond to these things.
in this case we take the liberty to say congratulations to Chicago, Paris, Tübingen, Kyoto, Berlin - which is an extraordinary selection of extremely wonderful places - and to add one final (and extremely interesting) question: which discipline brings you around the world like this? what is the secret behind this rare combination of wonderful cities, lucky girl?

best

Dear Albert cfc - sad sad. Well anyhow, I understand. In a way, those memes are just a modern version of the Chainletter, which I usually despise myself.
What brings me around the world? basically, the interdisciplinary approach to things. And the desire to learn languages, which is best done while howling with the wolfes in Rome... although they obviously never tought me the finer points of Redewendungen.
